I’ve had some limited successes in confining magnetic fields to a single area. My original idea of an Age turned out to be entirely unstable due to the excess magnetic energy.
I’ve used Shell 201 in Ahra Pahts as a testing area for my experiments. Filling it with iron and silicon sand was the easy part, controlling the magnetics was a bit more difficult. In the end I had to create a covering for the shell in order to prevent the particles from escaping, but the door is still proving to be a slight issue.
The effect that is produced is quite amazing though, it can really only be describes as walking through the northern lights. I will post pictures in the coming days, but I’m tied up with surface issues right now.
I’ve nearly given up visiting the older Ages and the cavern itself, what once seemed so exciting and full of life has become dull. Work on Ahra Pahts and other Ages with the Guild of Writers is an amazing experience, one that I hope I will be able to continue for a long while to come. I think I might take one more chance to return to the Cleft however, I’d like to walk down to D’ni and follow the footsteps of those before me, walk in the path of history, and finally leave the old behind for the new.
